Sweater Weather

Sweater overload! I know. I'm sorry! I just can't help it! I love sweater weather season. Sweaters are so cozy and they can be dressed up or dressed down. It's all about what you pair your cozy knit with. Dress your sweater down with knit leggings or dress it up with a sexy pair of coated jeans. I'll be honest, I just like feeling like I'm in a blanket all day!

I also love sweater weather season for the cute accessories. There's so many adorable headwraps out!  I usually find some cute ones at Forever21 or on ebay. And of course I love the statement headwraps with a lot of details and in a light color to contrast my dark hair. And there is nothing more cozy then a large infinity scarf on a chilly fall day.

Sunday Funday

Sunday Funday? Let's be real y'all. I ain't leavin' my house! I love relaxing on sundays! I bought this adorable top from Old Navy and it's so comfy! Old Navy is one of the few stores that actually delivers to Northern Quebec. Whenever I feel the urge to shop I hit up their site for comfy lounge clothes. This top has the feel of a jersey knit hoodie but it's a drapey casual top. They also have a white one that  says "I Need Coffee", perfect for a cozy day at home. They're actually on sale for $11.50 so get them while you can! www.oldnavy.ca. Of course I'm going to pair this drapey top with some black knit leggings, a warm slipper boot and a messy bun.

I don't know about you, but I like to reserve my sundays for lesson planning, hot chocolate, snuggling and watching movies!

On the Go

LOVING acid wash jeans lately! I recently purchased a pair of light acid wash jeans and black acid wash jeans and they are amazing! I feel they add a little extra style to a casual outfit. I pulled this On the Go outfit together for a day of running errands. This is for those days when you really don't feel like dressing up but you have to go out to run errands.

Pair a light acid wash jean with a comfy basic white tee, your favorite leather jacket, combat boots with detail and a cute tote for the days you know you want to be comfy for. Effortless chic. Toss your hair up in a ponytail or messy bun, and add a red lip for an extra punch of class. ;)

Miss Professional

So for those of you who don't know, I'm a teacher. I teach on a reserve in Northern Quebec, Canada. I love my job and I love having the freedom to wear  comfy clothes at work! The school has a very laid back dress code but I still find it important to dress up!

This is one of my favorite go to looks. Super comfy, easy to chase around 7 year olds in but looks put together and fashion forward.

Depending on the day I choose a top, casual chic or a blouse for dress up days and pair it with a comfy slack. I like to pair it off with a statement watch, comfy yet adorable shoes for all the running around and a nude lip.

Who says dressing up has to be uncomfortable? Not me. :)

#CanadaStrong

Canada has had a rough week but today was a horrible day for Canada.

It's insane what some people can do and the lack of empathy someone can have when taking the lives of innocent people. Every time tragedies strike I always find myself asking "How can someone do something like this?" I guess we all need to come to terms with the fact that there are horrible people in this world that are capable of doing horrible things. I hope my fellow Canadians remain alert and vigilant and those guilty are caught. May the families affected by the recent tragedies over the past few days find the strength to heal. Rest in peace to the fallen.

I wanted to share this touching show of support from the Consol Energy Center tonight as everyone joined together to sing the Canadian national anthem as a show of support for Canada and the tragedies that took place today on Parliament hill. Congrats guys that's what I call CLASS!

Wrap it up!

It's all about the outerwear! Wrap yourself up and fall in love with fall. My go to style is usually laid back and casual and I like to spice it up with accessories and a great outerwear piece. I've paired a basic black pant with a casual printed tee (love me a printed tee!), and cargo boots. Remember, when shopping for a jacket make sure you choose something that you really love. Make it something that can work with the majority of your boots and accessories. I usually gravitate towards black but this year I chose a grey jacket that I can pair with black over-the-knee boots or black cargo style booties. And of course top everything off with a black wool hat because I just find them so chic and adorable!

For makeup, I love a dark vamp lip with pretty much all of my fall looks! Dark lips make an appearance as of September and don't stop till summer for me. I also really like dark nails (black, brown, grey, burgundy) and a light grey/black smokey eye. Do you boo!

Hint: Find something cozy and chic that you will feel comfortable and amazing in! Turns every outing into a fashion show.

Oscar de le Renta

He makes a woman look like a woman, feel like a woman,” designer Diane von Furstenberg said in a video tribute to de la Renta for an exhibit at the William J. Clinton Presidential Center. “He has that old-fashioned elegance, and yet he’s able to interpret it in such a modern way.”- David Henry, Bloomberg News

Sad news today in the fashion world. Fashion legend Oscar de la Renta has passed away leaving behind a legacy of amazing fashion. May he rest in peace.

In memory, here are a few of my favorites:

Vision Board-Living Room

So I recently moved into a four bedroom, two bathroom house with a friend and let's just say I was overwhelmed by the amount of space that needed to be filled! We were provided with a dark grey couch and matching recliner, light wood coffee table, t.v stand and side table. We used the couch as a base for our colour choice.

We finally decided we'd like to go with a blue to accent the grey and eventually just went for teal since it's so in right now and easy to find. We purchased teal pillows from Bouclair, teal floor lamps shades with a silver stand from Ikea, teal curtains from Winners, a teal side table cart from Ikea and then broke up the colours with a grey accent rug from Target.

My absolute favourite part of the living room in the Litographs that were purchased from http://www.litographs.com/, we ordered a Great Gatsby litograph as well as a Phantom of the Opera one. A litograph is a silouhette poster thant contains an entire book in the background. These posters are amazing for people who love literature and look fantastic framed. Check them out! They even allow you to customize the color and size of your poster. So chic!

Most of our decorations and furnishings were purchased from Ikea, and Target check them out for great prices on home decor. The vision board is an overview of the colours and concepts. Hope you enjoy and get some great ideas for your own home.
